ON MONDAY I WENT TO JITOMATE GOURMET FOR THE FIRST TIME AND HAD BEEN YEARNING TO RETURN SINCE. TODAY WAS MY FIRST OPPORTUNITY TO RETURN. DELICIOUS!


THE PANZEROTTI DE CAMERON IS ONE OF MY FAVORITES. THE FIRST BITE OF IT GAVE ME A “RATATOUILLE” MOMENT. WHEN I WAS A BOY MY PARENTS USED TO TAKE ME TO A RESTAURANT FAR FROM OUR HOME FOR PANZEROTTI. IT TOOK FOREVER TO GET THERE AND THERE WAS ALWAYS A WAIT. I’D BEEN CRAVING THIS DISH FOR 30+ YEARS SINCE LENONA’S CLOSED DOWN. NOW WE HAVE A SUPERIOR VERSION RIGHT HERE IN AJIJIC.


OTHER DISHES I’D RECOMMEND ARE THE MUSHROOMS WITH BRIE AND THE FETTUCCINI ALL RUOTA.


EVERYTHING THAT CHEF GERARDO PREPARES IS RESPECTFUL TO THE INGREDIENT. HE TAKES THE TIME TO PREPARE FRESH PASTA, USE FRESH HERBS PICKED FROM HIS RAISED BEDS AT THE RESTAURANT AND HE DRY AGES BEEF FOR YOU. THATS RIGHT, HE DOES IT FOR YOU AND YOU OWE IT TO YOURSELF TO GO TRY HIS HANDCRAFTED FOOD AS SOON AS YOU CAN.
