ONE HELL OF A GOOD DAY!


FROM AJIJIC WHERE I LIVE IT TAKES ABOUT AN HOUR TO GET TO TONALA WHERE I SPENT THE FIRST 4 HOURS OF MY DAY AT THE RESTAURANT SUPPLY SHOPS. THIS TYPE OF DAY FOR A CHEF IS LIKE A KID GOING TO A TOY SHOP. FUCKING FUN.


VERY HAPPY TO ANNOUNCE THAT I AM NOW FULLY SET UP FOR MEAL SERVICE FOR 50. YUP, 50 SETS OF WINE GLASSES, 50 SETS OF WATER / COCKTAIL  GLASSES, 50 SETS OF PLATES AND BOWLS! GOOD STUFF TOO. DIDN’T CHEAP OUT ON THIS. ALL SYSTEMS GO FOR PRIVATE DINNERS AND COOKING CLASSES.


NOW. THE SECOND HALF OF MY DAY IN JALISCO WAS WHAT REALLY TICKLED ME. SPENT THE ENTIRE AFTERNOON AND EVENING WITH MY BUDDY JUAN MATA AT HIS RESTAURANT RANGERS BBQ TALKING SHOP. MOVING EQUIPMENT, TALKING FOOD SCIENCE AND DRINKING SOME BATHTUB GIN VERSION OF “TEQUILA”.


OTHER THAN A DAY WITH MY DAUGHTERS THIS IS THE TYPE OF DAY I LIKE THE MOST!
